How much personal belongs could we bring when entering Canada as temporary residents?

Let’s see I have a temporary working or study visa and would like to carry a lot of things such as computers (valued CAD 5000+) or even some jewelry.

I got several questions to ask:

1. We should report these belongs while entering Canada?
2. Will we be charged with tax for these belongs?
3. When becoming permanent residents, should we re-pay the import tax? Or some other tax?
