Ok so my wife is in the other room printing out all our instant messages and emails....archive #1 out 2 is 104 pages!! If I keep going on like this I will have to send my application in a shipping container!

How much is too much??

It depends on what office you are going through. For example, Accra has a 40% refusal rate, so I sent in 400 pages of communication evidence (emails, texts, phone bills, chat logs and copies of postcards/letters)

You also have to think about how long your relationship has been going on. If it's a short time, you send more evidence. If you've only met your spouse one or two times in person, obviously you will need more evidence.

Generally though, I think one or two emails per week of your relationship would be sufficient. Try to find ones that show you were communicating about your relationship, your future plans, about friends/family members, and of course some 'love letters' if you have them.

Each case is individual, so do what you think is best to clearly communicate to the IO that yours is a loving and genuine relationship.

Thanks!

I am applying through Pretoria, South Africa! Not what the acceptance rate is here. We have been together for 2 years in July and married for 8 months. We dont have much for phone records but loads of IM and emails. I think I will submit all those IM pages though, It all pretty much goes about our relationship and future plans etc.
I have loads of pictures too but mostly with me or my wife taking the picture.

Thanks again for the advice!

I suggest you print out the inbox of your emails, showing all the ones from your spouse. This shows the date you started communicating, how often you communicate, and the topics.
Then print out a selection spanning the length of your relationship. Explain that if they want to see the others, you have them available.

If you really want to send them all, maybe highlight certain topics for the visa officer - you could put tabs on pages you think are especially good proof of your relationship.

Be safe than sorry... less is always a problem....you will need to pay extra on postage..but in the big scheme of things thats a small price to pay... send all information you have..
