how much funds other than loan in SPP?

My 1 year postgraduate diploma program cost is INR 10.5 lacs out of which I am showing 80% i.e INR 8.5 lac from my educational loan. How much extra funds I need to show. I asked someone he told me that I need to show more 5 lacs of liquid money and other sources of funds is it correct.

For a 1 year course if you are having a loan of 8 lacs then liquid money worth 4-5 lacs will work for you.

The SPP check list of the required documents for all the programs of study beginning after may 2010 has an option of advance medicals under set IV...if you clearly go through the SET III of financial requirements, they have only asked for 1) the copy of receipts for payment of the first term of your course fees 2) copy of education loan froam an indian chartered bank...thats it no bank statement or liquids funds need to be showed....its clearly stated at the bottom of the SPP check list in bolt letters that DO NOT PROVIDE ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS UNLESS REQUESTED TO DO SO BY A VISA OFFICERS. APPLICATION WHICH DO NO FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTIONS WILL NOT BE GIVEN PRIORITY PROCESSING UNDER SPP...so please follow the spp guideline and provide only the documents that are asked for...
