Husband has got PR interview on feb 2009...v got married on nov 2008...how long will it take for my case to get PR if my hubby attaches my appln. with his before his interview?

Re: How long will it take for PR?

Your husband will be interviewed on feb 2009? obviously your husband will take PR after interview if everything goes well they ask you to submit police clearance certificate and medical report(if first one is not expired) and take the passport and send visa in three weeks wish you all the best hopefully everything will well for you and your husband inshallah.

Re: How long will it take for PR?

thanx for ur reply..do u mean that i cud also get PR along wid my husband within a period of 3 weeks after his interview? i thought PR process for will take about 5-6 months...cud u tell wat r d documents i should provide while applying?
I am living in India and he is in canada..he had applied in buffalo and he has to attend d interview in LA(since his file is transfered there..) will i be asked to attend any interview in india while he attends interview in LA?

yes in some cases both (sponsor and applicant ) is being asked for interview my wife is in Canada and i am from Pakistan my interview was in Islamabad and my wife was not asked for the interview so it depends about their concerns about relationship sometimes they ask both to attend interview.

i am a little confused what is your husband's status in Canada? Permanent resident or citizen? did they send any letter to your husband about interview regarding your application? if you will calrify this it will help to understand your case as well as times concern
first you have to apply
after 35 days sponsorship will be cleared from sponsor
then case will be send to your local office in new Delhi i guess
and then they will do background checks and it will take around 5 months then you will be called for interview after interview visa will be given to you during this you need police clearance certificate and medical reports .

Actually my husband is on his work permit..he has not yet got his PR...he applied for PR on march 2008...now he has been called for his PR interview on feb 2009...after our marriage in nov 2008,he went back to canada to resume his work..im staying in india...he is going to file my PR appln with his soon...i applied for TRV to visit him and it was refused...we r staying apart..i wonder how long will it take for my PR appln. to get processed...this is my situation...

thanx for ur concerned reply...

reply me plz...

He needs to make sure he adds you to his PR application before it goes through. Otherwise immigration will not be happy that he was hiding his marriage from them and might deny him to sponsor you if he wants to do it later. Adding you to his application may delay it but that is what you have to do right now.

They absolutely will not allow him to sponsor you in the future if he does not add you now - before landing! You have no other option. Your husband is required to add you to his application - if he doesn't, he will be barred forever from applying to sponsor you to Canada. He needs to immediately notify the visa office that is processing his application that he has married, and get the paperwork started to add you to his application. That may or may not change his interview date - but it doesn't matter. The sooner he gets your paperwork started, the sooner the application will be finalized and both of you will be able to land - together - in Canada.

thanx for ur responses..my husband is gonna attach my aplln. with his soon...but v r having doubts regarding the appln. forms and documents to be submitted...

I saw in cic website n i cud c only PR holders sponsering their spouses..my husband has not yet got PR...so cud u plz tell us wat r d forms n documents to submit before he attends his PR inetrview on feb 2009?

thanx in advance..

A PR can only sponsor a spouse if he's getting married after he already got his PR. If he got married before applying for PR, he applies for the spouse on his PR application at the same time. If he gets married during his PR application process like in your case, he needs to contact CIC, embassy or visa office and tell them he got married. They will tell him what forms to fill out.
