How long to restore/ extend work permit?

Hello, I screwed up and reapplied for a work permit instead applying to extend my current one. As a consequence my application was refused and now it has expired and I am out of status, only for about 20 days now so I am within the 90 day time frame to restore and extend. My question is if I apply to restore and extend now how long roughly would it be before it is restored and I can work legally again?

This is what I read, seems like such a long time. What an expensive mistake I have made. :/
