HOW long is the PR processing taking these days?

Anyone care to start a simple thread on time expectations?
All summer I read that the CIC had pulled PR analysts into other
areas and that Permanent Residency applications were stymied.
Once we submit, how long before approval for the Medical?
Any ideas/experiences would be appreciated.

Due to the recent strike, there have been delays, but the general processing times are anywhere between 8-14 months.
