How long is a permanent resident visa valid?

Hi,

If my passport runs out after I have the 'green light' and 'landed' is my Family class PR visa still valid? I mean can i just renew my passport as normal or do I have to go through the PR application again once my passport runs out?

A PR visa is a ONE-TIME ONLY (single use) visa. Having completed your landing procedures, you will receive a PR card valid for 5 years, which is what you will use in future to return to Canada. Upon expiration of your PR card, you will need to show you met the residency requirements (730 days in every rolling 5 years period), in order to renew it.
