Hello all

I am a FSW inland who got an AOR on July 31. I am just wondering for all the FSW inland who got a PPR, does your passport have to be valid for a certain length of time?
My passport expires next year may. I will have to make a trip home to get it renewed and if i would like to avoid that trip if i dont have to.

Thank You All.

To renew your passport, you need to apply at the Embassy of your country in Canada.
If you are an Indian, then please note that an Indian passport can be renewed within 12 months of your passport expiry date.
E.g. If a person's passport expires on 25th August 2016, then he can apply for passport renewal anytime from 26th August 2015 onwards.

Thank you that's the answer I have been hearing. But what's the point of needing 6 months of validity if you are already in the country?
You're still holding a foreign passport even when you complete your landing as PR, so the 6-month validity is still in place, even when you're in Canada.
