How long does marriage take?

I'm trying to create a "draft calculation" of how long my partner will have to wait before they get OHIP.

Once border opens...

Fly to YYZ, quarantine 2 weeks

1. First, get married
a. get birth certificate / passport translateD - time: ??
b. get marriage licence - week or two?
c. get married - few days / a week
d. get marriage certificate - up to two months

While waiting for the certificate to come, we finish the sponsorship application so we can submit as soon as the marriage certificate comes.

2. Get work permit - 4 months after submitting the whole package to IRCC

3. get ohip - approx 1 year after submitting the package (?)

please help me figure out if I'm missing stuff

Do you meet the definition of common-law partners?

Assuming you do then they may be eligible for OHIP once they start working.

Your post is good but your title is misleading. You may want to change it to something related to getting OHIP and process of getting married and applying for PR.

No. We've been in long distance for two years. Visiting each other back and forth.

Ya I mean I'm curious about both things to be honest and I still have more questions too. A lot actually. But I'm new here and still kinda overwhelmed but at least I have a lawyer.
