How long does it take...?

Hi everyone,

May I ask how long it takes to process a Skilled Worker Application within Canada? I'm in Ontario, if it means anything.

I don't have a positive LMO, but I arrived on December 27th 2008 and my work permit expired December 26th 2009 - I am now in implied status. Am I technically here a year now or would my work permit have to expire on December 27th 2009?

hi colmforest,

no, nobody knows. even the canadian government hasn't released statistics yet. they will release processing times in jan/feb 2010 according to their website. judging by cic's impeccable track record on figures regarding processing times you can probably expect to add a year or 2 to whatever they say. don't get me wrong, government agency's the world over are the same it's not just canada. my advice is don't hold your breath for accurate figures.

From the time of full docs submission to the CHC,6-8months is what we have seen on this forum.

Doesn't it say somewhere that it can't take longer than 120 days somewhere? Is it not quicker to have it processed within Canada too?
