How long does it take to receive AOR letter for citizenship applications?

Hello everyone,

They received my application in Sydney on October 2nd, 2012 and until this date I have not received anything yet. Can you guys share some citizenship application timeline?

Took me 12 weeks to get letter and book, application was received by CIC in the beginning of August.

I sent my application in mid November 2011 by UPS, recieved a letter and book in mid January 2012!!!

Thank you guys. I received my AOR yesterday. There is only one thing I was curious to know. The date on the AOR letter say 09 November 2012 and I just received the AOR in the mail on 28 November 2012? That is a big delay and I dont thing Canada postal service would take 19 days to deliver something. Was this the case with you?

Generally it seems to be 8-12 weeks. But that doesn't mean that it can't take 4 or 20 weeks for all I know. CIC are fickle and we just have to accept that.

I am worrying about the delay because if the same thing happens when they send me the letter to do the citizenship test, it might be too late when It actually arrives and I will miss the test, taking in consideration that they only give you about 15 days to show up to do the test once you receive the letter.
