How long does it take to get sponsor approval

I'm also wondering why is my SA, biometrics and medical taking so long.. It's been 6 weeks since I got AOR.

Try to call IRCC and ask whether there are any notes on the file. Some agents are helpful enough to tell you. From what I've seen, some SA delays happen if they have requested a social assistance check from the province. Alberta is the slowest in replying.

I'm the sponsor and I didn't include the form which asks permission for representative on behalf of the applicant. Will they give me any information if I call? I'm in QC and I also have to apply for CSQ but it's not helping since IRCC is delaying SA..

I think since you are asking about sponsor approval which is your side of the application they should be able to share this information. Also, are you a PR? I'm wondering if this is something that prompts extra delays in SA because my husband is a PR too. He is employed and was employed at the time of submitting the app, never been on social assistance, I don't understand the delay honestly. When was your file received?

No, I'm a citizen. I'm currently not employed because I was abroad after getting married and came back to continue my studies. I did include an explanation that I have my savings and my parents are supporting me (looking to work in summer). For QC applicants, we don't need to fill out the income part that other provinces ask.. My file was received early feb 2021. I know it might not be as long but it's kinda bothering that some get SA on the same day or within a few days after getting their AOR. Also, I'm not taking any social assistance.

You should definitely give them a call then hopefully they'll tell you if there are any notes

O ok they also send SA in batch. Just wait a bit you'll get it. Order your notes if you like. It won't hurt anything. I did once Mine was delayed.

It's the same for me. Received my AOR in January but nothing after that. I am a student and everytime I call them, they say that your SA hasn't started yet. The wait is painful.
