Multiple months for AOR and sponsorship will take around a year although depends on various factors.

It has always taken around 6-12 months to sponsor a child. Would expect processing from Somalia to be longer than, for example, in Canada or the US. Processing time to sponsor a child has gotten longer since Covid due to backlogs throughout the system. In your case there is a good chance that you may need to show your final custody and divorce documents for the sponsorship.

last week, court reached a decision on our case and the court ordered divorce, but to my surprise the rulling didnt decide on the custody at all, however, there was a line in the rulling ,where the judge explains that the mother didnt request custody in her final memo, and didnt dispute with the father on the custody, but the final wordings was clear of who have custody me or her..!!.

so, the status quo, remains, as, i and the kids are in somalia and i only have the agreement that kids stay with me until dispute is settled , and also the ex-wife's signaute on the non accompanying parent declration document and the divorce rulling that didnt decide on the custody .

this is the court of 1st instance, so, there is still appeal court or supreme court ,

anyhow,

do kids need to make bio metrics tests,

they are in the system ,since one kid used to have PR status and 2 kids had a TRP and all of them were dependent children of ex-wife who were the PA who passed all stages of family sponsorship, but at passport submission she refused to contiue.

so, kids information are all in IRCC system, why they need to wait more than usual, just because they are in somalia..!

If they have done biometrics in the last 10 years then they don’t have to do it again. If your ex wants custody assume that she will go back to court. When it comes to divorces Canada and most countries want to make sure the other spouse has the right to travel with the children.
