How long does it take to call/sponsor family as Permanent Residence

Hi All,

My situation is that I have received Ontario Notification of Interest without my spouse. My spouse and child are not accompanying me. Now if I go to Canada without my family, how long will it take to call/sponsor them after getting permanent residence?

Depends where they are from - it's anywhere from a few months to more than a year. Note that since you are a PR, you must be living in Canada when you apply to sponsor them and must continue living in Canada while their application is being processed.

AT LEAST an year. Less than that is rare !

Actually - not rare at all depending on a person's country of origin. For example, if someone is from the US or from certain parts of Europe - then processing times of 4-6 months are quite normal for family sponsorship. Looks like OP is from Turkey - if so, I would say around 8-10 months.

Sorry - my bad. OP is from Pakistan. In that case it will most likely take 12 months or more.

But again, quite common to take far less than 12 months for many areas of the world. Unfortunately not for Pakistan.

Thanks. But do I have to first meet minimum criteria like having a good job and good financial condition? What are the requirements?
