Hi everyone! Hope my message finds you well, i applied for spousal sponsorship in August 2023, i received biometrics request sept 13, police certificate and additional documents. All documents required submitted within a week, also required letter to pay the RPRF, received AOL sept 14, medical was passed sept 23, file was transferred to Etobicoke October 3, received sponsor approval letter October 5. Linked application in May 22, 2024. In gckey eligibility is under review, BGC in process, medical passed, application in progress we will get back to you once decision has been made. My question is, how long does it take to get AIP approval or should I apply to restore my status or just wait for decision, my status got expired and I didn’t apply for restoration. Please anyone here in the same boat or know anything and what I can do ? Really stressful

It depends on how long you are out of status and what was your status before.
I was out of status January 2023 CBSA officer told me I should keep working until July I applied for spousal sponsorship in June 16 but application was returned in July 31 and I reapplied August 4 and I didn’t even bothered but I tried to apply for an open work permit won’t allow me because it was already 90 days

Work permit, by the time my status the CBSA invited me to discuss PRRA then I asked if I should stop working but she told me I should keep working until decision is made on my PRRA

It's too late to apply to restore your status. AIP normally comes towards the end of the spousal sponsorship process.
