how long does it take for passport request after medical submission

Same here - Mid - March 2013.
Medicals Received Line updated in ECAS - End March 2013.
No further progress.
Current Status - In Process.

This is the one million $ question.

The answer: no body knows! It could be less than two months or sometimes a year elapse and you have to do remedial.

I did my medical two months and a half ago and tell now there is no news!

Actually its not gurantee that you will get in 3 months or so on.
it purely depends upon the work load. but one thing is sure that you will get in 12 months.

But some cases, people received after that and CIC office call for another medical becuase you medical is valid for 1 year only.

I received my medical submission & passport request together.

CIC (Canadian High Commission) sent me a letter asking me to submit my:
medicals + send passports to them + 4 pictures + Appendix A + Police Clearance Certificate

So, I was asked to submit all at the same time.

that is weird! how do they give final decision before analyzing the medicals which usually takes some months to be done..

its almost 9months after submitted my medical haven't heard any thing form VO. I think it depend on VO.

Well, accdg to the visa officer that called me is that our visa will be valid for 1 year, i guess our medicals were also extended? If u didnt receive instructions about redoing medicals then maybe it was automatically extended. You can inquire personally to the visa officer handling ur case, howd u know them? Here's the sample
