So I found a job posting in Canada, applied and apparently I was selected. The company requested my translated diplomas and a letter of intent and they send my documents to the labor office. Does anyone know how long till I get an answer from them? They filed the documents almost a month ago and no results.

Also, what are the next steps in the process please?

It takes a couple of months to obtain an approved LMO. Once the LMO has been approved, you can then apply for a work permit.

Wow, this takes time! I am very afraid that they will fill up the position.

Any idea what paper works i need for the work permit? I work in IT.

Information about the work permit application can be found here:

Note that it will take additional time for the work permit to be processed. Work permit processing times can be found here:

Since you are in IT, the first thing you should worry about is whether or not the LMO will be approved. To be approved, your employer must prove they advertised the job and were unable to find a Canadian for the role. It's typically difficult to get an LMO approved for an IT position since there are usually qualified Canadians available to fill these roles.
