Hello all,

I received a request for a repeat of my medicals around mid August 2009 and the medical have since been sent at the end of August. I was told the request for my passport letter will be issued once they receive the examination results but still not heard anything back. Can anybody tell me if he/she has received any letter from the high commission in London especially with the postal strikes or if I'm actually being too anxious.

Hello nevaminus007!

So I see your going through London as well . . . ah, our very reliable London. I also see that they requested that you repeat your medicals. I don't know what London's problem is!

Any ways, my husband repeated his medicals on September 15 and they were sent at the end of September. However, he wasn't requested to redo his medicals, we redone them because they became expired. I was told that the medicals will take about one or two months to be cleared and that is why we chose to redo them ahead of time. As I was told, the request for the passport will not be issued until everything has been cleared. So you probably will not get your request letter until your medicals have been cleared.

How long did your application take??? How long was it in process in London???

Trust me London is unbelievable, I've applied since last September, but they started processing in November. My application actually expired as well and that's why I was asked to take a repeat medical as I understand that your visa cannot be issued with your medical expired. Have you had any correspondence from London since the Postal strike began.

Yeah, unbelievable is the word!!! I applied in October 2008 and London didn't start processing until January 8, 2009 . . . and we're still waiting!!!

No, I haven't had any correspondence from London since the postal strike, and believe it or not, I have never had anything from London at all. We always had to call in or write to find out information. When my husband's interview was scheduled they were supposed to send a letter out to him telling him when and where the interview was supposed to take place, but he never received that letter. We're lucky that we found out before it was too late.

If I were you I'd try calling London and asking them what's going on. Or you can write a case specific enquiry. Did you have an interview? If so, did the person that conducted your interview give you their contact information (phone number or email)? If so, then you can try to get in contact with that person to ask what's going on. That's what my husband and I do right now, we always get in contact with the man that conducted the interview every now and then to see where our case has gotten.

You can go here to make a case specific enquiry:
