My wife's passport has been at the Los Angeles Canadian Consulate for 3 days and still there's no update. No update on Los Angeles VAC tracker that Consulate has handed back the passport or anything.

Also despite the fact that Consulate has had passport for 3 days, online on CIC, we still see the following:

Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results: You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.
Review of additional documents: We do not need additional documents.
Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics: Completed.
Background check: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision: Your application was approved. You need to send us your valid passport to finalize your application. Check your messages below for details.

When will this all resolve realistically ? In how much time ?

When I sent my passport to Ottawa Case Processing Center for PR entry visa stamping, the stamping took just 1-2 days.

Problem is, my wife is traveling to Pakistan in mid August, so I'm wondering if this process is taking too long.

My parents Visa stamping took almost 2 weeks and 1 week for mailing passport back. You should expect to wait one more week or so.

At least 10-15 business days

The consulate got the passport on 23rd July 2018. "At least 10-15 business days" means the earliest they'll give the passport back to the VAC is sometime between 6th to 13th August 2018 (this does NOT include time needed for passport to get to my wife from the VAC). This presents a MAJOR problem for me because my wife needs her passport to fly internationally on 16th August 2018.

I asked the VAC to try and have the passport stamping expedited but they said I'll have to contact the consulate directly and tell them my wife's situation, to try and get the passport back earlier. Should I do that ??

No, CSC advises factoring in between 10-15 business days from the time they receive the passport to the time the passport is returned to the applicant i.e. passport transmission time.

You'll get the passport back well before her flight to Pakistan. Nonetheless, you can email the visa office to request for expedited stamping (do include the flight bookings)
