Hi,
I've been waiting over 3 years to get my Canadian Immigration Visa for myself & my family (wife + 4 kids). It finally arrived 2 weeks ago. Unfortunatley, it expires in late January 2011, & current circumstances dictate that I will likely NOT be able to make the move before then. I can't believe that after all this time, the visa arrives at a time that may result in us loosing the chance to move to Canada.
I was wondering how long we initially need to stay in Canada in order to have our immigration visa & status validated. Could we fly to Toronto for a week to validate our Immigration visas so that they do not expire in January & then return later on in the year ... eg in Summer 2011. I'm reluctant to ask this question directly of the Canadian embassy in case they choose to rescind our visa status.
Thanks in advance for any help and advise you can provide
