On the day of the actual oath ceremony, how long does it take from start to finish?

My pink letters say 1.30pm. Wondering what time I will be done.

For those who have taken their Oath, please leave a comment so I have a rough idea. Thank you! 8)

just to be clear regarding my time, the Oath ceremony itself took 1 hour but you need to get there early. Even though my letter said 9AM, I was told to come around 8:30AM when the letter was handed to me. I got there at 8:30 AM and they start lining you up and doing other logistical stuff. The actual ceremony didn't start until 9:45AM and ended around 10:45AM. I stuck around for a few extra minutes to take some photos and was out a bit before 11 AM. So total time spent was 2.5 hours.

Ah I see. So if my letter says 1.30pm then the actual time of the ceremony is probably 2pm for the public? And I'll be out around 3.30pm?

I plan to get there about an hour early, but I can't stay long after.

When I had my ceremony, I arrived maybe 20 minutes early. At the time when the ceremony was to begin, they started to let us in, check our papers and show us to our seats. After that they let family and friends in. I don't think there was a certain time for it, only when they were ready to let others in.

If you can't stay for the whole oath ceremony, I don't think that you will be granted citizenship.

My oath at Scarborough took close to 3 hours , it took CIC hour and a half to settle everybody .take the PR cards away for cancellation and then a few words from the judge followed by the Oath.

Location: Mississauga
Application sent: Nov 2013
Received: Nov 2013
Started processing: Jan 2014
Transferred to Mississauga: May 2014
Test: Sept 2014
Oath: One week later - letter handed on the same day.

Waiting for oath next week. Test was easy. Overall a nerve wrecking experience - feels like being in an examination for graduation again. Just want to get over it and move on with life.
