I’m hoping to hear from anyone whose dependent child’s immigration medical was referred to the Centralized Medical Admissibility Unit (CMAU).
Our PR application has been in process since October 2024. According to our GCMS notes, our daughter’s medical file has been with CMAU since October 2025, and the medical has remained “In Progress/Ready to be Assessed.” We have not received a Procedural Fairness Letter, ADR, or any request for additional medical documents.
For those whose dependent child’s file went to CMAU (especially for autism or other developmental conditions):
We’ve been waiting for several months and are trying to understand whether this timeline is common for CMAU cases.

- How long was your file with CMAU before there was any movement?
- Did IRCC request additional medical documents, or did the medical eventually pass without asking for anything?
- Did your GCMS continue to show “Ready to be Assessed” while waiting?
