How long did it take for them to update E-CAS?

Hi! I just submitted our application last week through courier! (FINALLY!!!)

My application was received by Mississauga March 27, 2013. How long will it take for them to update E-CAS to confirm that they are now starting the processing? been checking since then but always get this message "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. " regardless if i use the Client ID number of my husband (the sponsor) or the receipt number for the payment that we made.


**side question, I cant seem to find how to update the "signature" part of my profile here? so I can put in the details of application sent.. application received... AOR received... etc? can you also help me out regarding this? thanks!

It usually takes a few days after Sponsor Approval to access Ecas. I am having issues yesterday and today with it. (They need to renew the SSL Certificate for it.)

What number do you have to check it?

I think a few more posts (10) will get you the options to update your profile and send private messages as well.

Oh... So i need to wait 3-4 wks for sponsor approval. So that would mean that E-CAS will only be updated by end of april? Was thinking that they would have some sort of notification like "papers in process" or "sponsorship approval in process"

Oh well... Need to keep myself busy while waiting.

Im checking with both the client ID of my spouse and the receipt number--both of them dont work

Will we be notified by email/snail mail as well if sponsorship approval was given? (In case we arent able to check E-CAS)?

You should get AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) via e-mail. (snail mail is a possibility too but I got it in an e-mail) Then you will get the decision about the sponsor.

I do not think they will have a file for you yet as they have not entered your file into the system/no AOR. I never tried with the receipt number, but after AOR I tried and it took about 2 days before it showed anything.

Just to note, so you don't panic, not all applicants get AOR.

Make sure when you are trying to put His or your last name only then your His UCI or Fxxxxxxxx Application number.
