My question is about how long after CoPR do you have to 'land' before your CoPR is voided? I heard something about 1.5 years. But I can't find the post that mentioned.

The date of the expiry of your medical or the expiry of your passport, whatever comes first........there is no standard time....varies for everyone

I think you get 6 months for initial landing.

The date of COPR is mandated by the expiry of your medical report.

Sorry to hijack this thread OP, assuming your question is answered...(see date on permanent visa stamp on your PP)

My query is: Can I delay my landing to a later arrival date? As in, I recd my COPR and I will be traveling out of the Canada for a short holiday in two weeks. So when I return back to Toronto Pearson, is there an expectation that I have to land then? I have a valid work permit till 2019.

Reason I ask is if I complete landing when I return from my holiday, I will be traveling in a few days again for work so I do not want the hassle of applying for a permanent resident travel document (PRTD) to re-enter Canada. So can i delay the landing till I am reasonable sure that I wont be traveling for a few weeks to avoid the hassle? Or will immigration see my permanent visa stamp and question me as to why I am not landing?

Disclaimer: Obviously I will make sure I land before the expiry date on my permanent resident visa. But I also think it will be 2-3 trips I will avoid landing just because of the PRTD hassle. I dont know what immigration will say - forum searches yielded no answer

Sorry for my persistent ignorance, is there a standard expiry period for medicals? Does it vary from person to person? If so, why?

No, 1 year from the date you took them
