I just received my denial of student visa on friday. I am currently considering reapplying in another embassy, but only if it is worth it. Is there some sort of time period they expect you to wait before one may reapply?
Some history:
I am a Mexican national brought to the US as a 12 year old. Unfortunately this was done illegaly and I remained in the States as an undocumented student to date. I've got two Bachelor's degrees and am in an MSc program in Mech. Engineering. Since I may not complete the MSc in the states due to my status, I opted to start over in Canada. I was offered a full ride (and extra for living and other expenses) for the MSc program and got around an extra 12k USD in the bank.
I applied through the Washington Embassy on humanitarian grounds. I am aware that perhaps applying through the Mexican embassy is the usual route, however, I know of at least one person that was granted this exception.
I explained everything in a letter and am ready to catch a plane to Mexico and try again (have home there as well) and reapply through the Mexican embassy as I understand an interview may be necessary.
any advice on time periods that must be considered or changes I should make to my application will be appreciated.
reasons given for refusal:
-Lived in the US as an unauthorized immigrant
-Consideration on humanitarian grounds refused as it was claimed that I could explore the same studies in Mexico or other country (I guess that last part did not come through in my application :
