Hi guys,
how long after you receive FN number by email can you check application status online? I got my FN yesterday, and I tried today, but it doesnt work....

I am sure i got sponsor's FN number, surname, birthday and everything else right. any suggestions?

It won't get updated until sponsor gets AOR email. Only then do they input the information in the ecas system. We couldn't get ability to get on Ecas until a short time after we gotten AOR. Probably due to time needed for system to get updated once application info is entered.

The sponsor got the AOR email already, with the FN number on it. I tried but it doesnt work, so that means they send the AOR email before they input information in the system?

Yes, it appears to be the case. AOR being issued before they input information in the system. However your sponsor should have a UCI assigned in the AOR email as well. Have you tried signing in your sponsor?

yeah, i tried both way, UCI and FN, so maybe I just wait for more days then check. Thank you

Have you also tried using your CIC official receipt number. Usually starts with R#######

I managed to get on ecas using the receipt number as well.

Tried again, using receipt number + my infor or receipt number + sponsor's infor, still doesnt work

I guess they didn't update the ecas system with your application yet. Sorry. I tried to help you with ways to get on ecas as best as I could.

It took us 6 months and a few days.
( I just got mine working today. even though they started processing mine application on March 14, 2013.)
