How is the background check exactly is done??PMM please need answer

From what you just stated, it seems like your file is also at its final stages of processing and it is going through its final review.

If I understood correctly from your previous posts, your husband is now living in or has rented an apartment in Ontario and as long as he has a job or decent prospects of finding employment, the financial barriers should not be a significant concern either. If you recall previous posters that's another area of concern for sponsors who have not lived in Canada for a long period of time -- for example, mimi123 was refused based upon financial reasons relating to the sponsor.

In regards to mimi123 what did you mean by they were refused based upon financial reasons relating to the sponsor.. ? Is this person in this forum or another.. ?

Hmm I read the case and it seems there is more to mimi123 story than just being refused for that reason.. Even if they are hard on people in Damascus there must be some things in her sponsors background raising red flags.. there are many of us Canadian citizens living abroad with their husbands and haven't worked in a couple of years.. But there has to be something in her sponsor's history such as collecting welfare in the past, not holding a job for long etc. I mean for those of us that were living in Canada, paying our taxes, having a good career etc.. I HIGHLY doubt they would reject us just because we happened to not be working at the moment etc. This post will put fear into the Canadians sponsoring from abroad so I wanted to make clear to others that every case has a personal story not known to everyone else on the forum. Financial requirements of the spouse is not in the forefront of the application. If it was than they WOULD require us to show our income etc. I just wanted to be clear on this for any future readers that will get all up in a panic thinking they will get refused. That officer seemed quite deadset against something and perhaps was looking for reasons.. just seems very strange to me and I pray no one gets an IO like that

On spousal applications there can be a refusal under Section 39 of the Act.

"

Financial reasons

39. A foreign national is inadmissible for financial reasons if they are or will be unable or unwilling to support themself or any other person who is dependent on them, and have not satisfied an officer that adequate arrangements for care and support, other than those that involve social assistance, have been made."

Yes for sure but what I'm saying is there are underlying factors.. they did not satisfy the officer with arrangements of care and support. "If they are or will be unable or unwilling... " So obviously there must be something not proven or supplied to the IO.. what I meant is when you do supply them with sufficent evidence of care and support back in Canada you wouldn't be denied on the basis of financial reasons.. That's what I meant by there must be backstory not being told.

Boncuk, that was what confused me when I read her story,cause I know that there is no financial requirement for spousal sponsorship, but I guess there is lot of rules that we don't know about, it is like a non-stop learning lesson and rules.

Well the operation manuals have a wealth of information if you are ever bored and want to read about the process.. But thats why I was confused by her post .. because I would assume especially for those that are living abroad you would make a point to show how you would support your family in Canada and what your plans would be etc. I hope what I showed is enough.. if I need a job offer I can get it as well lol

If I recall correctly, mimi123's husband wasn't working in Lebanon (because he couldn't get a work permit). And they had not made arrangements to lease an apartment in Canada. Although mimi123 was working and her english was fluent I don't know about the husband (the sponsor) so his background and ability proved to be decisive for the visa officer. Perhaps a little bit of gender discrimination was at play as well. But, I agree Boncuk that we do not have their background, however, applicants should be aware that for those sponsors living abroad with their spouses, the financial requirements could be a bigger concern and they should not overlook them.

Btw, is your name Turkish because a boncuk is a bead in turkish (and happens to be my lost cat's name)

you mean about Windsor, well we have to live there ( I am glade , because I like it) because my husband has to go for his work to detroit for some time until the foundation of his compagny in Windsor is finish, and there is my parent in Law and my sister in law and her family who will come to visit us, they live as well in michigan, so we need to stay close ...about the lebanese there, I know what youy mean, and the election is the best proove of the lebanese attitude, but it is something I will know how to deal with.
what are your news, any update, where you able to register your marriage

Hey there, I just discovered something (maybe late...but at least I discovered ) that there is CSIC and RCMP..?? what is the difference between them, because on my CAIPS note, they have mentioned that RCMP background check is done, is it the same as my background check is done??? I am little worried now...my head can't handle new info anymore , there is lot to know ..
