How important is it that a parent goes to see the wife and family?

My father is deceased and my mother could not come to our wedding in Cambodia. We stated on the application that it was just too long for her on a plane as she is older but we didnt include that she has had COPD for some time now and has difficulty breathing in the summer here so we thought she had better not. Now my mother has offered to come with me in the fall to help with our case when it goes to interview. I really don't want her to come to Cambodia with me but it seems it might be a very important deal to convince Singapore that our marriage in genuine.

It seems from reading here that it is very important for the mother to be involved and suspect that might be a big reason on why we were placed on an interview list.
