How do I immigrate a friend?

My friend, whom lives in the US currently wants to immigrate to Canada.
He has 1 year of university level education, not a lot of money and wishes to move to Canada to work for a year, and then attend school.

I also run a small personal business that he has been working alongside with over the last year or so. It doesn't reach any of the financial requirements of "business" in Canada.

Basically, what direction should I work towards to help him immigrate to Canada?
