Hi all, looks like I am having a hard time to black out my SIN on the sheet - the black marker just won't cover the printed ink (which is made of oil I think). I want your advice on how to do it properly. Also - is it really necessary to black it out anyway? Will the officer return the application if it's not?

Don't Worry , They will not reject your Application on basis of This :P :P :P :P
And let it be visible OR use Black Pen

Why would you black out you SIN? Are you worried about ID theft or something?

You can print out the T4, black it out, re-scan and send or do it via Adobe Acrobat, if you have a license. I forgot about this and send my T4 as is, got my PPR, so I don't think it matters unless you are greatly concerned about your privacy.

:o Really? I just send them a copy of my T4 with my SIN on there >:(
I thought they should be professional enough not to release that info to anyone..

Blacking out the SIN was added to the checklist after I applied; probably after you did too.

It's weird but there you go.

Oh OK. I guess they require that just to be safe. It doesn't matter now as we have new SIN's..
