Hey everyone,

The time has finally come! After 1 year of compiling and putting everything together, we are about to send out our inland PR application next week.

How did you all send it out? Canada Post? What mailing features did you get? Tracking? Signature required? Anything?

Thanks!

Mine wasn't inland but I still needed to send it to the Mississauga for stage 1. I used a courier (DHL) with tracking so I could see when they received it.

Are you sure? Missisauga deals with sponsor approval for outland applications. I sent mine to vegreville, AB as that's what it states in the document checklist. Can somone confirm this?

I maled mine using canada post xpresspost. Put everything in one big envelope and in the order of the doc checklist, using paperclips for all the forms, 1 paperclip for all the pics etc. No need for separate envelopes for sponsor forms, principal applicant forms etc, apparently they (envelopes) all go to the garbage and are arranged in the order of the doc checklist by a clerk.

Mine was Outland, sorry if that wasn't clear :) sidetracked at work and used "you" instead of "I". Modified to make it clearer.

I was just referring to Mississauga as it still needs to be mailed within Canada.

Hope I didn't give you a heart attack :o

I did mine through Canada post and did a registered one which gave me a tracking no. and also the name of the person who signed and received it.

in the end, we are able to send it any method we want i guess?

We mailed ours to Vegreville with courier. A few days I ran out of status so that was very stressful.

You can choose any kind of postal service, but Canada Post is very reliable in my opinion, and considering you went through a lot to gather the documents, a tracking number and signature gives u a peace of mind.

Yes, you can send it any method but it's a good idea to do the registered and the signature one as sometimes CIC does loose files so, this way you will have proof that your application did reach there.

i think i'll send it out by courier with tracking and a required signature. can't go wrong there i don't think.

I thought purolator was cheap and reliable :)

I sent my through UPS. Sent it on Tues afternoon & it got to Vegreville, AB & signed for by Wed Morning.
Cost like $30. Had tracking on it & email notification on arrival

Sent mine with Canada post, I think it was only $11.50.Considered xpress post I guess. With tracking number and signature of person who received it. I wasn't in a hurry that time so I chose 2-3 business days. But Canada post got it there the next day. So worked out well.

I used Canada Post with tracking number but no signature required. Paid less then $15.00 and it took three days from Calgary to Mississauga
