No one will make you stay in abusive relationship or stop you from what you wanna do but here is my advice...can both of you sit and put things on the table to see if it's something that both of you can control and stop such attitude, if after that he did not stop then you will do what you need to do but he will realize that you want the relationship to stay but because of his own bad attitude it's not gonna work out between you both.

This is just my advice and don't take it personal or whoever reading this message because there is no relationship without up and down but the ability to make things work and right is what make us great in our relationship. I do not support abusive relationship.

:( I'm so sorry this has happened to you Mrs. Purcy.

You can withdraw your application at anytime in the process.
If he has already been granted his PR, contact CIC and report the abuse and separation. If there has been any interactions with the police regarding his abuse make sure you get copies of the reports.

As long as he hasn't yet landed as PR, you can withdraw your sponsorship to cancel the PR application. Follow the instructions here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=732&t=14

I know you mean well with this advice, but frankly it's incredibly irresponsible.

Mrs.Purcy has quite understandably decided she doesn't want to be with someone who is abusive towards her. It is not right for you, or anyone else on this board, to try and talk her out of it when she posts here asking for help.

I'm going to urge caution against those who say that this problem can be "worked out" by talking. Quite frankly, it's irresponsible and the opposite of what any organization would suggest in this situation.

There's ample evidence that suggests abusers in abusive relationships will continue that behavior throughout their lifetime (and not just in the same relationships); it is a serial behavior.

Ending domestic abuse is not as easy as sitting down and discussing it, and you cannot pray that it'll get better. Domestic Violence is not an isolated incident and can take place in forms other than just physical abuse.

I applaud you for recognizing this and getting out now; this is not your fault, and nothing you ever do warrants someone inflicting violence on you or anyone else.

Contact the CIC, and if you at all are in danger, contact the police. Your safety comes above all else.

Where in Canada do you live? There is help for you; we just need to know where you are so we can find it.

You asked the same question back in March:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/how-to-cancel-entire-sponsorship-t274967.0.html;msg4130978#msg4130978

What has happened since then? Did you withdraw your application back in March?

Even if he has landed less than 2 years and there is condition 51, you can let CIC know if you no longer live with him, it will cancel his PR and your sponsorship agreement.

It becomes much more difficult if the person has already landed. CIC may or may not do anything about this and if they don't...he keeps his PR.

Correction. It *might* cancel his PR. It's not automatically going to happen and if CIC decide not to revoke it, the sponsorship commitment will remain in place.

also if the spouse landed when the marriage had broken off already, it could be a case of misrepresentation on both parties. sponsor may be held liable if she plans to redo the process at a later time.

Could be....., only if there is proof or evident showing their marital status had changed when the applicant landed and CIC was not notified.
