What is the procedure to sponsor parents if I have recently received my PR and I am the only son as my sister is already married and living in other country than Canada?

Need your inputs and advises asap for my friend.

You need to wait until you have 3 years of Canadian income meeting minimum amount for your family size. Only then can you apply to lottery to sponsor parents.

If you don't meet Canadian income requirement, you can't sponsor them.

The 3 years income can be earned while you've been in Canada on worker status. You just need to be PR when you actually submit the application.

Same rules for a co-signer spouse you may be adding.

We do not know yet if in 2018 you will need qualifying Canadian income from 2014/15/16, or 2015/16/17. Will need to wait until rules are released in December.
