Hi, all

I am a south korean fresh graduate planning to emigrate to Canada through the quebec skilled worker program.

Like many others, I am also quite confused about how 'area of training' is determined. (I guess it wouldn't be so different from the federal skilled worker scheme) It looks like it can be quite subjective even though it is so crucial in the immigration process.

I would like to ask a few general questions.

1. Education or Work experience, which is more important (especially when work experience is very short)? Could I qualify for an occupation category only with my university degree, provided that there is enough relevant content? Or do I have to back it up with work experience in that specific sector? Does it increase my chances of qualifying for a certain area of training if I have relevant work experience?

2. After submitting the application, when will I know whether the "area of training" I stated in my application is approved or not?

3. Does applying through a lawyer increase the chance of my intended area of training getting approved?

Thank you for reading my post. Answering any one of the three questions will be greatly appreciated. :)

Sincerely,

Tay
