Hi. Just want to know how could my host family in Canada declare that they will be handling my living expense for the duration of my studies. They are a good family friend of ours.'

They would have to provide their financial documents. It is quite hard to get approval if family friends are the only ones paying your living costs. There is too high a risk that a friend may have to prioritize their own financial needs or the financial needs of their own family members and then you would be stuck in Canada with no funds.
