Okay. Is the sponsor approval date is the (SA) or the in process date show on the ECAS. Regardless for me on both items would be March 2015. Now the processing time for HKVO would be 11 month. This takes to Feb. 2016. However on the Feb. 2016 date, does this mean normally takes 11 month for the applicant to land in Canada or just to have decision made ( DM) in 11 month? How long normally takes from DM to landing?

:'( Just getting worry since nothing has started by HKVO after review my notes.
My advice to you is do not wait and launch your inquiries both to HKVO and your local MP. Technically it is 11 months from SA but your case does look as taking too long and is already on path to exceed 11 months as eligibility review was not yet conducted. You have nothing to lose by making those inquiries.

My mailing address is in AB where my in-laws live cuz where we live in Kelowna is a share house and we only have one mail box, it's better and more secured to send it to Alberta for me. I landed today, i've brought a bunch of documents just in case, but they did not even ask, all they need is COPR and passport, now just another waiting game of the PR card.
Hope you will get yours very soon!!!!!!!

p.s. Kelowna is a really nice to place to live, nice weather as well! You should move here ;)
Congrats on the landing! I lived in Kelowna over two summers, I love the weather and the people there!

Hi all

I am in Hk sponsoring my wife to Canada. I wonder why people here say it takes as long as 19 months ?

From what I have read it's around like 11 months and then 6 weeks to process ?

One more thing

I don't think the info available online is very accurate as to when the sponsored person needs to conduct the medical exam.

Do you guys have any idea when ? Certainly we should submit the application before we do the medical exam ?

For sponsorship application you do your medicals upfront and submit medical results along with the application. You could also do it based on CIC request afterwards but that might delay your file processing.
As to the online info accuracy, if you are referring to CIC website - their info is accurate and up to date and my advice to you is to follow their instructions rather than some urban myths.

Processing can take "as long as" this and "as short as" that, but the 80% processed time shown on the site seems to be reasonable. However, the last quarterly update was dated August 27 so I wish they would update it. So for the sponsor it is about 2 months and for the applicant it is about another 11 months in Hong Kong. Beware of listening to a subset of individuals who say "I think" but who don't have hard data or substantial evidence to back it up.

Every time I check my wife's e-CAS and scroll down the birth countries list to China I notice Bouvet Island in the "countries" list. Finally I looked it up and discovered that Bouvet Island is extremely desolate, uninhabited, has never had a birth, and has never been occupied for more than a year. The only building there is an automated meteorological station run by Norway.

An example of the things I do and notice while killing time in the long wait to get my life going together with my wife. CIC please rush in 2016.

Thanks for all the input above, much appreciation.

How about the Police Certificate? Do I need to do it now or can I do it later after submitting everything? Cuz I think I read on the website that there is a letter that the immigration will give us before we go ask for the certificates?

You can submit police certificate either upfront or after your case transferred to HKVO.

Hi Everyone.

My wife is currently in canada with her HK passport (visa extempt). We are currently waiting for the PR (outland application in hong kong office). She is allowed to stay in Canada for 6 months (there is a stamp on the passport which says Jan23 2016). Does she need to extend her visitor visa online IMM5708? A month ago, when we go to USA for vacation by car for a week. When she come back to canada, does it count for another 6 months? there is no stamps on the passport tho.

Thanks

hello happy holidays
I am a CDN citizen sponsoring my CHINESE wife to Canada. We submitted our outland app back in june2015. The app is being process in the HK visa office. This is the timeline for "permanent residence" for my wife off CIC's website:
1- recevived app for PR on july13,15
2- started processing on sep14,15
3- requested medical exam on sep18,15 (note: my wife was already few months pregnant when we submitted the app, she did all of the medical exam in oct2015 except for the X-RAY. After giving birth in Nov2015, she did the X-RAY 1st week of Dec)
4- medical results have been received (it did not give a date so I'm guessing it was received 2nd or 3rd week in Dec or just before the Christmas break)

Since we didn't do the upfront medical because of her pregnancy, will this be a huge delay with the processing? Thank you!

No it won't delay your file as they didn't start processing June cases yet. Congratulations on becoming a father!

Since there is no stamp/record of her land border reentry I tend to think she will require an extension. Once you submit your extension request, she will be on implied status even if her current visa (stamp) past due.
