Do you really need a lawyer for appeal process? The cost of a lawyer is very high between 5k to 10k!

Great!! I love summer Kelowna. Not sure how's the winter.
Is there any conditions on your COPR? Liberals are trying to drop the two years condition. So not sure if it's implemented yet.
Winter is nice in Kelowna to compare with other places else, it's relatively warmer, not windy and it's dry!

It's not implemented yet, I still have the condition 51, which is ok with me, but HKVO got the origin entry date wrong so I have to get that corrected because it was not correct when I landed yesterday..........which is very annoying too, that's what i'm working on right now, but other than that the immigration process is complete.

It was not a good landing yesterday, and I was told the wrong information from the CBSA officer, on top of that, HKVO key in the wrong info in the computer system (on the COPR it is correct though), took the CBSA officers some time to get that corrected.

HKVO.....WTF!!!???

I was told:

1) I have to wait to get the PR card to apply for SIN card.

Correct answer: You only need the landing COPR paper and your passport with the landing stamp on, trust me, that's all you need because I got the SIN today!!!

I'm glad I did not wait to apply it when I get the PR card and waste another 2 months for not be able to apply for jobs.

2) To apply for a SIN card you have to go to service BC (because I'm a BC resident)

Correct answer: Service BC doesn't have the service of issuing the SIN card, it's SERVICE CANADA.

Thank god I did not believed it cuz I had applied SIN card when I had a work visa.

By the way, they don't make SIN card anymore, so you won't get a physical one, you will get a number right a way when you apply it.

I sincerely hope everyone's landing experience is good.

Hi all,

Just a quick question:

My wife did a medical exam for the sponsorship program in August. Now does she need to do another one for applying visa extension?
Or she can submit the one that she did in August?

Thanks!

Re: Hong Kong timeline (Taiwan passport)

To Benitaagogo or any other Taiwan applicant.

I followed instructions and submitted all the documents (including medical, police report, etc.) for my wife's application. For the photos, I followed the dimensions stated in the document. The instructions did not ask for photos to be dated and with the chop of the photo studio. Does anyone know if this is necessary?

Thank you.

If you follow the country specific instructions you cannot go wrong, just do what it says and don't worry about it.

I assume by photo you meant the 9 photos you should provide along with the applications, on the guide it does require one of the photo you have to write the details required in the back.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3907e.pdf

Page 15

The back of one (1) photograph must:
 bear the name and complete address of the photography studio;
 bear the date the photograph was taken;
 The photographer may use a stamp or handwrite this information. Stick-on labels are unacceptable

(updated)

I just saw your timeline on the spreadsheet, I don't remember when I applied earlier this year it was required on the guide, and if you've read the guide when you were completing the application back in August you should be fine, they probably added this requirement on after you had summit your applications.
