It is true that many more people got their IP recently than usual. Mine was granted on Aug 17th. Crossing fingers that they don't ask for more documents. My case is a little complicated:

Firstly, my wife applied for a visitor visa. We submitted the sponsorship application as outside applicant after she came to Canada as a visitor. We did her medical exam last Nov and submitted that bar-code with the application. Since it has been a year almost, i hope we don't get asked to do the medical again. Secondly, since she has been in Canada for more than 6 months as a visitor, will she be asked for a RCMP policy certificate from Canada?

Please gently advise.

I have also seen from the other forum, one of the applicant got DM2 in 5 days after IP, and the application was received Dec 31, 14.
Now I am really worried about my application which was received 17th of November 2014.

Hey everyone,

I have a question,

I born in China in 1985, then move to HK in 1999 (abt 14 years old), should I need to do Police Certificate in China ?

CIC sent me these by mail :
> Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate from Hong Kong. This must be received at this office by: 2015/09/10
> Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original notarial police clearance certificate from PRC. This must be received at this office by: 2015/09/10

Please help

thnaks so much :)

If you are in Canada, you should send to Ottawa, it should specify on the letter....

Hi guys,

There is a problem which really makes me extremely anxious.

This morning my status just turned to "Decision made". But I haven't got any update email since then.
So is this normal ??? or it means I got rejected......

If there is anyone knows what is happening please let me know I would appreciate it.

I am very worried now ..... and frustrated.....

Thank you very much.

Correct. No need to send China police certificate. You could make it very clear by saying "Not Applicable - I was never in PRC for six months or longer since the age of 18."

Hi guys. I have a question here. I submit my wife's application in March 2015. Current eCAS status "Application received". File has arrived in HK in early Jun 2015. My wife did her medical exam in shanghai in July. She tried to use her UCI (obtained from CIC when she visited Canada), but was told by the medical clinic that there was no medical exam request under her UCI (probably means HK VO hasn't opened her file yet). Talks to the lawyer and the lawyer suggested to do the exam using only passport (like a up-front exam). She received a 2-page document from medical clinic with the title "eMedical Information Sheet". There is a barcode starts with "UMI" on the top right of the first page. Is this the correct sheet to submit to HK VO? And is "https://secure.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=hong kong" the right address to upload her medical sheet? Was going to ask the lawyer (our rep) to upload it. But I don't want any delay so I decided to upload it myself. Thanks in advance!

The letter said they will return your passport within 60 working days. Also, if you have a Hong Kong SAR passport, you can send a pdf copy of the passport and no need to mail the original.
