Hello Everyone,

I had my upfront medicals last week...everything went well except my BP 155/90. Cretenine test results were ok, but i was called by the hospital and referred to a cardiologist. ECG result turned out to be ok as well.

Since my medicals last week I started checking my BP and its around 127/88 at home but whenever I go to the hospital it shooots upto 150/90o_Oo_O

I am 37, today they have asked me for further tests..though ECG was ok..they will put me 24hrs BP observation machine and will take my blood test for cholestrol.

Hope everything turns out to be ok:D and doesnt effect my application!!

Dear All,

High BP is no problem.
It happened to me.
They have send for furtherance tests-cardiologist report.
ECG an ECHO test which was normal.
************If your BP is above 140/90*************************
I have passed the medicals too.
If you are on medication and BP is under control, then that is fine.
Okay what of u have cardiomegaly and family hx of HYPERTENSION?

I got my echo 2d test done and creatinine level was fine. Doctor said to me that this don't affect application as people with High BP still goes to Canada :)

I got some protein in my urine too and they said it could be due to High BP, even I didn't had any history with it. It seems hospitals can also cause high BP ;)

Any ways I have sent my meds back to NDVO. Keeping my fingers Crossed!! Also they have put me on medication and asked me to consult my family doctor.

Let me know if you got your rest of the reports
Hello bro same NDVO just sent me an email for furtherance tests for Hypertension. I hope NDVO is not BRUTAL? How was your results? Passed medicals now?

All the best. Was your echocardiography completely okay? No enlarged heart?

Apparently the high blood pressure is normal for some people going for an examination. I had it when I went for a visa to Australia, sky high in the examination, they sent me for further tests. I bought a blood pressure monitor and tested it at home for a week, three times a day, brought the unit and the journal to the specialist for proof. He tested the unit, took my blood pressure with his kit and the monitor and they were both 190/70 and fell to 180/75, the previous day 130/80. During the tests the ECG machine registered normal.

The medical term is 'white coat syndrome', so when you go to the examination, the minute you see the doctor the apprehension leads to high blood pressure. The specialist explained that it was just a condition and nothing to worry about.

Guys, I got BP around 140. The doctor asked me any illness on parents. I told my father had angiography/plasty and he is like 65+. I am around 25. I am having concerns if they would reject me... due to family history.... Any words of comfort?

In the end, the dr. did say everything looks normal and left with good note saying "welcome to canada"... sounded too good to be true but I guess he was trying to make me feel good..
What is your status now? Accepted

Same as my, my bp was around 150 at first time. After second test it was 140 then doc called me nothing and also not suggest other test like ECG, even not mention any pro in final medical receipt. Was it normal?
