I am in US . My boy friend is coming from Canada. He is Canadian citizen. We are going to get marry next month. After , that he will start process. I have two question what FBI report is going to show in report? Does FBI report show my previse marriage ?and how long its going to take to get PR. If some one is in US...I have US green card... never visit Canada... Don't want to visit just want to move after marriage.

Thanks for reading my post and replies

You must declare your previous marriage in your application. It doesn't matter what the FBI report shows.

the FBI record is a criminal record, it does not show relationship history. you can't just "move" to canada after getting married. you have to either "visit" and wait for your application to be approved or stay in the US until your applicaiton is approved. US citizens are experiencing about a 6 month processing time right now, some more, some less. Those who are not us citizens, and are residents of the us, *sometimes* experience a longer wait. it depends on how straightforward your application is and presumably what the applicant's home country is (because some countries take longer to respond to requests than others).

The FBI record will not show your previous marriage. But if you don't disclose your previous marriage in your PR application form, you will be in big trouble. A charge of misrepresentation typically means they will ban you for 2 years. Having been married before is not a problem, but not disclosing it is a big problem.

FYI - the misrepresentation ban recently increased from 2 to 5 years.

Wow, that seems a bit harsh for some people who are charged with misrepresentation through ignorance, not willful deception. (Although, I guess, how does one prove it's one not the other...) Is it 5 years for everyone, regardless of what kind of misrepresentation it was?

It's for all.

5 years doesn't necessarily seem that harsh when compared to other countries. For example, the US imposes life-time bans for certain categories of misrepresentation.

it is common for people to have more than 1 job at a time, or leave a job for another, so I don't think it needs to be a concern.

That is pretty trivial and I wouldn't worry about it. Stuff like your marital history is much more serious

Yeah, it's probably ok. There are things CIC cares more about, such as marital status, children, criminal record, immigration history (such as were you ever deported from any country, or refused entry, caught working illegally, etc.).
