As I was in UK and from south east Asia and went to QMUL and university College London. I know lot of students go to small college pay something (e.g. £400) for all the documents for visa extension. If you were there for six years then you should have your visa extended minimum once and If you were not studying then who you extended your visa, if you used the above mentioned method then include that in your application, but I was reading on this forum someone who had some debt due in UK and he/she left UK without paying Debt and then that person posted this question on forum. The replay if I can remember correctly was Background checks normally bring up criminal issues and your case doesn't fall in British criminal case category. So, don't worry , it should be ok. Plz check following thread and 1st reply by most senior and professional memebr PMM. Good luck

If you have stayed in the UK for six years on student visa and did not study, you were obviously there for work and used a loophole in the system. Although this may be argued to be both legal or illegal, unfortunately you will not be there in person to convince the case worker. I feel this will not depict a pleasant picture on your application. I am not discouraging you from applying, you should definitely apply, I am just stating facts as they seem to me but If I were you I would not keep my hopes very high. If you were deported from the UK, you should not bother applying as this cannot be hidden.

Again, if you are not deported you SHOULD definitely apply, you never know weird things happen. I'll tell you about a case of one of my mate which is quite similar. I am not particularly happy with his ways nor would I have done it, If I were him. I am also not suggesting in any way that you should follow him, I am just reciting what happened. He was also in the UK for over 2 years on a student Visa, he had paid £ 1500 each year in some dodgy college, never studied or went to college and was working full time. When he applied for an extension for the third time it was rejected and he had to go back home. He then lost his passport and applied for a new one. He applied for Canadian immigration on the fast track, was not even fully qualifying. He told them that he was studying for the last two years but never told them where. He completely hid the fact that he ever went to UK. His application was successful and is now in Canada.

I applied for Canadian immigration in 2003 (in the old system), Came to the UK in 2007 legally on a work permit which is expiring in a few months, I have to go back home after that. Stated complete facts in my Canadian application, Fully qualify but my Canadian Visa has still not come. Life is weird......

and if any of your friend is still in UK you can ask him and am sure he will arrange things for you don't tell college people that you need for this thing they will ask big amount other wise it can be quite cheap as well it can be in range of GBP 150-350.

hi,
i am a new member, i have a question about police certificate. i am iraqi citizen, i lived in libya for about 10 yrs, left libya and return to iraq since 2007.
my question is how can i get a police certificate for my stay in libya (if it is necessary) from outside libya, because their is a condition to be resident in libya to give you such document.
thanks in advance for any help.
yours
