A couple I know was recently nominated by their province for permanent residence after living here for a year. They came as students but the husband switched to an OWP (connected to his Wife's SP) after a few months of being in Canada.

Now that they have the nomination the wife would also like to switch to an OWP. My question is, can the wife use their nomination to switch to an OWP even though she just received a renewal on her SP?

Brief background/timeline: the husband was the principal applicant, he's not currently working. The wife was studying biology but she dropped out several months ago because she's hoping to get an OWP due to their nomination? Is she eligible?

For PNP applicants, the application to CIC has to be submitted and the "Acknowledgement of Receipt" (AOR) received before being eligible for the Bridging Open Work Permit.

Some provincial nominee programs used to allow for temporary work permits, but you haven't said which province, and you haven't posted in the PNP forum : )
