Hi,
I'd like to ask if anyone living in Ontario and has been on treatment for Hepatitis B?
I'm coming to Toronto as a PR in a couple of weeks and trying to figure the cost of the drugs since prescription drugs aren't covered by OHIP.
Anyone knows how much per tablet we're prescribed there?
I've been taking Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate 300 mg (Brand "Protevir").

Thanks so much!

You hopefully already know that you can only personally import a 90 day supply of a prescription drug and cannot personally import anything from outside Canada through the mail.

Surprised that you were accepted before your treatment was over.
Thanks for the link! While the virus is active, all my results have been of normal levels and virus load was undetected.

Yes I'm aware. That's why I want to have an idea of how much I would be paying when I start being prescribed in Ontario.

Did you declare having Hepatitis B or did they identify it during medical exam?

I think it somehow depends on the country.
My exam was done in Vietnam. HepB was NOT on the test by default.
They only asked the technician to extend the test after I'd declared my condition in my check with the doctor.

Hello everyone,
I'm as a child Care assistant work in a Montessori school in Winnipeg now. I got my PGWP which shows I can work for any employer. But before applying work permit, I went to immigration medical test, and tell the doctor I am a Hepatitis B carrier. She test my liver function and result is active and the function is 17/20 normal. Actually, I'm taking the TAF which I brought here. After that, the specialist contact me and give me many blood tests and now he give me ultrasound information on November. Nothing to tell me about the blood test results or my status.
I hope you guys can help me about the questions.
1. I believe my virus load is undetected. Can I work as a child Care assistant ? If I can't do that, does have some documents or policy to ask me not to become a CCAs.
2. I did regular tests in my country ago, and My liver is inflamed, and B-ultrasound shows small nodules. But since taking the medicine, the fibrosis has reversed. It has also been in good condition. But I don't know if it will affect the doctor's judgment on my body.
3.I am now very worried that I will continue to work until the immigration stage is finally refused.
I worry about not sleeping well every day, what should I do?

Did you receive treatment for your Hep B before coming to Canada?

Did you have treatment before coming to Canada? Was the hep B discovered when applying for your study permit?
Yes, I reported my HB without any treatment and I got my study permit . At that time, my results were good due to take TAF.
