Hello,
I have a question about medical exams for CEC.

After I came in Canada on work permit, doctor found then I have Hepatitis B. It's not bad, it's under control.
But I have concerns if it can be a problem for CIC?
Is it somebody who have the same disease and get PR or was rejected because of Hep B?
Do you believe CIC officer will reject my application for Permanent residence?

Thanks.

This is the procedure the medical exam and reporting will follow:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/partner/pp/pdf/IMEI_Hepatitis.pdf

And you might also want to search this forum. There are plenty of previous discussions and cases from previous applicants.

No issues with Hep B.... your PR will not be refused due to this....

If it was not a concern they why would they specifically request testing for applicants with particular risk factors? I think it's very much case by case and depending on the severity, specially liver impact they could refuse PR application.

It is particularly important to assess the risk of hepatitis / liver disease as these conditions may pose a danger to Canadian public health as well as create a significant burden on Canadian medical services through the need for expensive medication and specialized treatment going as far as liver transplantation.

Go on they in forum page. Do a search in the white box top right. Hep B. you may find more information in previous posts. All the best.
