Hi! I just delivered my baby this July and I was wondering if his entitled with the child tax benefit? How am I able to apply it since my temporary resident visa works till Oct. 2010 only? I'm still waiting for the approval of my LMO and new work permit (hopefully). If ever my LMO hasn't been approve what are the other options that I can stay here in Canada? Are their any other ways to apply for PR by myself? What are the ways and things needed? Thanks for the help!
 
The other options to stay legally would be to apply for a study permit or a visitor visa. Under both these, you cannot work. For PR application, you should look into the immigration website and determine which category suits you best and evaluate yourself according to the factors like age, education, past experience etc.
