ONce sponsorship is approved can they take it back this is in regards to Spousal sponsorship

I would imagine so if the application was fraudulent or illegal in some way or if they discovered (after granting approval) something which materially affected the actual decision.

Why so worried?

Yes, if the PR was obtained through misrepresentation, they can take it away. You can read here about one such case which is in process (the husband failed to mention his spouse back home when he landed). At the bottom they also mention a case where a Canadian citizenship was revoked because the man in question obtained his PR with a marriage of convenience. http://immlawyer.blogs.com/my_weblog/2008/06/consequences-of.html If there is sufficient evidence then CIC will investigate.

Are you talking about just the sponsorship approval portion? Yes, they can revoke your eligibility if you go on welfare during the process or claim bankruptcy. You have to meet the eligibility requirements from the beginning to the end of the process.

Does beginning to end mean the full 3 years? So now that my sponsorship is approved and hubby is here, what happens if I go on welfare or declare bankruptcy at some point before the 3 years is up? Not that I'm planning to -- I was just curious!

Hehehe - no. It means from the time you apply to sponsor until the PR has been granted and I think landing too because that's truly where it all ends as far as eligibility is concerned.

Just kidding. ;-0

Sorry lonelycanadianwifey, I didn't mean to take over your thread or take away from the seriousness of your question.

I hope that everything is ok and that you were just asking your question out of curiousity, not because you are facing a problem.
