My girlfriend has been staying in Canada with me since October 31st 2011, her entry date stamped on her passport. She is supposed to leave Canada by April 30th 2012 according to her passport but we have decided we want to get married and have sent off for her extension in the mail so we can get married soon and so we can apply for her Permanent Resident Card once we are married. We mailed the extension forms by Priority mail a little less than a couple of weeks ago and we are wondering if we sent the extension papers too late, and when we are supposed to hear if she is aprooved to stay longer or not. If she isn't aprooved can she just come back to Canada in a month or so so we can get married the next time she comes to Canada? Please any answers or questions will be greatly appreciated. We are getting our marriage license soon, and we know that in Quebec it takes 60 days before you can get married after you get your marriage license, so we are worried she might have to leave before we can even get married.
