hi,
Can someone please guide me through this. I have been reading a lot but I am confused. I am a Canadian citizen and have PR in United States. I live in IL with my husband who is US citizen. We just had a baby. Now I want to sponsor my husband and baby. These are my questions.

Do I only apply for citizenship certificate for my baby? Do I have to notray the application? Do I have to fill out form IM5476 since I am filling out on behalf of my infant?

For my husband, what applications do I have to fill out? Also, if I apply from outside of Canada does it take longer to process? What are my best options?

Please, i would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!

1. You apply for proof of citizenship for the child (assuming you were either born or naturalized in Canada and didn't receive citizenship through descent) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/proof-how.asp
2. No, you don't require a 5476 for the child.
3. The package and instructions are here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp
4. If there are no problems, i.e. criminality then processing would probably be less than 12 months.
