Hey guys, two quick questions about this form.

1) I am sponsoring my wife. Question 4 wants details about her father. Long story short, she never met him, and knows nothing except his name. What to do?

2) Question 6, d) -Have you ever been: Been refused refugee status, an immigrant or permanent resident visa, or application to the provincial nominee program, or VISITOR or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country? My wife was denied a visitor visa (they said she didn't have the money to support herself, even with her staying with me O.o In that case, do I say YES to this question for being refused visitor visa, or do I say no? Just a little confused here.

3) Question 8 - I enter dates for old jobs, unemployed, traveling, etc. But for her present job, she's STILL working there, but I can't write "Current" in "to". Do I leave it blank? Or in activity, write "Teacher (Current job)" ?

4) Question 12 - Where has she lived for the last 10 years, theres 2 addresses (she just moved). For the most recent one, again same problem as question 8 - I can't write "Current address" anywhere. What to do for that also?

Thanks guys. This is I think the last step for me before being done for sending the app in :).

EDIT: Might as well add this here. Does my wife have to send me any passport type photos to be send along with the application? For some reason, I can't find this answer anywhere.

Seronic, I'm also sponsoring my wife but in my case, I'm the one who hasn't had relationship with parent since I was just a kid. So in the part of the application where I had to write his information including his Date of Birth, I simple put in a note explaining that I do not have relationship with him and don't know anything about him. I'm assuming that this cannot be a reason to deny me to sponsor my wife.

My wife was also denied visitor visa for the exact same reason you mentioned in your post even though, like yourself, I wrote invitation letter saying she would stay with me during her visit. Since then, I learned that visa offices generally deny visitor visa to spouses because they assume the spouse will not leave Canada.

To answer your second question, if she is still working, then you cannot put a "to" date. "to" is the date her employment ended. So yes, leave it blank. Just use common sense and you will be fine. Good luck.

I am not a senior member here ,but for the father details i wrote unknown. For the dates i put the date we filled in the forms or put the date you are going to send them off .That is what senior member's told me to do.

Bit of advice they ask for 10 years then seems to write back and ask since the age of 18. If you have that information you should could back that far.

1. Just write the name of the father and for the DoB, put a date that is made up, for example: 99.99.9999. Write of a separate piece of paper (make sure to put her name, form number and the number of the question on the top left of this separate sheet for reference) and explain that she doesn't know the details of her father.

2. For this one, you answer YES. There is a box at the bottom, where you can write details. You will write: "6.b) I was refused a TRV Visa, on (put date) for the following reason: (put reason, you can quote the refusal letter).

3 & 4. What I did here, I left it blank and after I printed the form, I wrote by hand and in black ink: "PRESENT".

For the passport questions, you need to send 8 pictures, but not the passport type. There is a form with country specific documents, which you can find here (scroll to Part 3): http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp#immigrate
In this form you will find the exact requirements for the pictures, plus all other documents that are country specific.
