I am filling out the Sponsored Spouse / Partner Questionnaire (form IMM 5490) and need some clarity on questions 24 and 25. I'm finding it quite confusing because we met in the same town, started to date for a few months, then moved in together almost 5 years ago, and have lived together ever since. So, we didn't "visit" each other - we lived together and saw each other every day! We're now married (to clarify, my wife hold dual citizenship for Canada and UK).

Question 24:
Has your sponsor visited you during the period of you relationship?

I've ticked "YES"

My answer:
THE SPONSOR AND I LIVED IN GUILDFORD, SURREY WHILST WE DATED BETWEEN SEPT 2009 & JANUARY 2010. WE MOVED IN TOGETHER IN JANUARY 2010, LIVING IN A HOUSE SHARE WITH FRIENDS, BEFORE MOVING INTO OUR OWN APARTMENT 13 MONTHS LATER, ON THE 4TH OF FEBRUARY 2011. WE HAVE LIVED TOGETHER IN THIS APARTMENT EVER SINCE, WITH BOTH OUR NAMES ON THE TENANCY AGREEMENT (I will include a copy of our tenancy agreement here as evidence)

Question 25:
Have you visited your sponsor during the period of your relationship?

I've ticked "YES"

My answer:
(I HAVE JUST COPIED THE SAME ANSWER AS QUESTION 24)

I understand that this question is designed for couples who have a relationship where they haven't met, but this doesn't apply to us. So, I've ticked "yes" to both and entered the same response for both questions.

Can someone please clarify if this will be acceptable and if I've understood this rather confusing question correctly?

Thanks a million! :)

Apparently, I did the same thing ..I don't think we should worry about that. I've added my text in the 1st question on the 2nd I've written "As mentioned above I and my husband has lived together there was no meed for a visit and than I pasted the answer from the 1st question.

Good to know that I'm not the only one thinking this!

Can anyone who has gone through the process clarify this please? I just want to check that what I've entered is acceptable.

Thanks.

No problem :)

It's fine. For any question that does not fit your circumstances, just explain.

Great thanks. So I will just leave questions 24 and 25 as the same answer, explaining that we've lived together for 5 years and attaching a tenancy agreement as proof.

I dunno but you didn't explain how often you actually saw each other between sept 2009 and jan 2010. You only said that you "Dated" .... Then you all of a sudden move in with each other and some friends in jan 2010 and finally cohabit February 2011.

If it were me I would explain how you actually saw each other and how often from dating phase too.
